Trader Joe's Lunch Runs

With a new school year starting, you might be thinking of what to give your children for lunch and after school snacks. Anticipating the challenge parents go through, we came up with a list of some easy grab and go snacks from Trader Joe's that you can pop right in your kids lunches! Let us know what you think!

1) Trader Joe's Just Mango Slices

These tasty snacks are free of added sugars and serve as the perfect alternative to when your kids are craving some fruit roll ups.

2) Trader Joe’s Mexican Style Corn and Quinoa Salad

This salad has some premade quinoa, corn, cotija cheese, and roasted poblano cilantro dressing. You can throw in a grilled protein and it becomes a complete meal. Maybe this won’t be a perfect lunch for the younger ones but definitely one for our growing teen girls who might be on the health train.

3) Trader Joe’s Edamame in a Shell

Edamame is an excellent protein and fiber rich food option for your children’s diet. Despite being such a small snack these are surprisingly very filling. These require some heating in the microwave, and only cost $1.69. That is way less than how much it would cost to eat these at a restaurant which would also be a smaller portion.

4) Trader Joe’s Roasted Garlic Hummus Dip

Hummus and Dips serve as the perfect company to cut up vegetables, fruit and pita triangles. They are perfect for our picky eaters, or nibblers who don’t like taking huge meals to school for lunch. They also have a great variety of different flavored hummus to choose from.

5) Roasted Seaweed Snack

Seaweed is not a usual food in our SAD [Standard American Diet], however it is a rich source of Iron, Vitamin K, Folic Acid, and Fiber which helps support gut health. Remember, give something a try at least eight attempts before ruling out!

These are just a few that we have rounded up. If you have any Trader Joe favorites, let us know, we would love to try!
